Smile! Like You Mean It.

"Smile! Like You Mean It." is a feature length documentary film that challenges the societal norm of over diagnosing, over prescribing and over dosing ADHD, Adderall and other intense level medications in pediatric patients. ADHD and Adderall in association with Pediatric patients is an epidemic that continues to be ignored, misunderstood and manipulated. The film is in no way trying to demean ADHD, it is more like a love story. People with severe ADHD can sometimes feel like they need to be fixed. Medicine is helpful and at times necessary yes, it is not an end all be all and they do not need to be fixed as people but rather understood. We will follow Oliver, an 8 year old boy who is on adult level doses of ADHD Medication and is now being prescribed anxiety medicine. Through his captured journey and expert interviews with pediatric physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists, we will get to the bottom of why these pills and diagnosis are being pushed onto children all around the world at younger and younger ages.
